November December Bulletin

Hunstanton: Have Your Say: Thu 7 Nov

The Borough Council is holding a consultation event on Thursday, 7 November, between 10am and 7pm at Hunstanton Town Hall. HemingwayDesign's initial masterplanning concepts will be available for residents to comment on, along with plans for the library redevelopment. Please go if you can. Just like other local towns, most cycle routes in the current Hunstanton Masterplan have not yet been built and we must make sure they're not forgotten and say there should be no more delay! We expect the consultation will also be online and we will link it from www.KLWNBUG.co.uk when we see it.

Hardings Way (National Route 1 / Local Route 6)

Thank you to everyone who came to the tarmac cycleway's 16th birthday celebration and then again the following Thursday for the council meeting where Councillors Kemp and Bone proposed keeping HGVs off of Harding's Way. As you may have read in the newspapers or heard on the BBC, the meeting approached farce as the leader used some standing order to move the decision from council to cabinet meeting and then the council struggled to take votes whether to allow that - taking up to 40 minutes in one case. At the time of writing, neither minutes nor next agenda have been published, but we will keep watching and announce it on the website.

Christmas Ride

We've also decided to set the date for the Christmas ride as Tuesday December 17th. Beginning at 5:30pm, we will have a Christmas lights ride around King's Lynn, then head somewhere for food and drink. Venue TBC. It would help to have an idea of numbers, so if you are interested could you please let us know. We'll create a Facebook event or please email MJ with the subject line "Christmas lights ride". mailto:mjr@phonecoop.coop?subject=Christmas+lights+ride A message from Vicky We have decided we're not ready to give up our Tuesday evening rides yet, so we're going to keep going as long as the weather allows us. These evenings will probably feature more "chatting" than "pedalling", but keep an eye on Facebook for updates. Lazy cyclists coming to a pub near you soon! 😉

Hope to see you soon and happy cycling! 🙂🚲🎄
