Fawkes in the Walks is on Friday 6th November, with the bonfire being lit at half six and fireworks from 8pm. More details are on the borough council website.

Why not freewheel into town and avoid getting stuck in traffic? This year, there's a new 60-space cycle park with lockers on the ground floor of the St James multi storey, in the corner nearest the swimming pool, plus there are long racks at the bus station. You can see these locations on our online cycling maps.

After the display, you should be able to avoid most of the queueing motorists by avoiding Railway Road and London Road and exiting town along either Harding's Way to the south or North Street and Loke Road to the north/east. If you choose to leave through the Walks, the bus station-rail station route should be clearest, but the Walks may be very busy, so take it easy!
