Sunday the fourth saw Sarah, MJ, Gary, Mike and me on a ride to Denver windmill to test the waterproofness of our gear. The jury is still out on mine: I stayed warm but not terribly dry in spite of a goretex jacket. Footwear after a while becomes a matter of “fill your boots” and I haven’t yet located waterproof gloves. In spite of which I enjoyed the company of fellow masochists: we kept smiling!

A Request from Kevin Waddington: Dear Friend or Fellow Campaigner,
Norfolk County Council (NCC) has just granted itself a temporary Traffic Order to close off Hardings Way for most weekends from October to December, in order to construct several roads off the south end of it. This would bring motor traffic (including HVG's) onto 25 per cent of the road. This work comes at a time when the Minister responsible is considering whether such work would violate the conditions of the CIF2 funding grant with which the road was surfaced. NCC obviously hope to get the work done while the wheels at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government turn slowly. But that could land council tax payers with a big penalty.
It is intended to hold a protest rally on Saturday 10th October, at 11am, at the south end of Hardings Way. The call needs to be HALT THE ROAD BUIDING: wait for the Minister's decision.
Put a note of this event in your diary now! Look forward to seeing you there.
PLEASE NOTE: This event will be held according to Government guidelines on Protest events, and social distancing will be obligatory.
