On Saturday 29th November three brave souls set out for The Stag at West Acre and met up with Kath and Mike for a very pleasant (Pete please note !!) lunch washed down with some excellent real ale. It was so pleasant that I forgot to discuss the next rides list so here’s what I’ve cobbled together including suggestions from Helen, Pete and MJ. Hope you can make them.
Next year is an election year for our MPs and Borough/District Councils. We'd like your help to make Space for Cycling an election issue - with 20% of people around here cycling, it ought to be! Watch this space next month for details of how a small action by you could help move things forward.
Andrew lent me a copy of “Obsessive Compulsive Cycling Disorder” written by Dave Barter which is one person’s account of his relationship with the bike in several of its manifestations. Funny, ironic, bawdy and well written. Log on to: www.phased.co.uk for further details.
If you have any queries or ride suggestions, please get in touch with Trev on 01485 543706, email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Pete on 01553 673647, email: email@example.com Happy pedalling from Trev.
Swaffham CX1 Audax Ride Saturday 13th December Start 0900hrs from Swaffham Community Centre
111km cycling event starting from Swaffham, Norfolk. Controls at Norton Café, Walsingham Shrine, plus 3 information controls. A lovely ride of nearly 111km around some of the villages not usually seen when travelling on the more major roads of mid Norfolk. By no means hilly, but this ride does dispel the idea that Norfolk is completely flat. Entry fee £5.00 CTC, £7.00 non-members. http://www.aukweb.net/events/ for further details or talk to Trev about Audax rides.
