Hi Bugsters,
Here’s the latest rides list prior to Trev taking off for a week in The Malverns and a long postponed visit to family in Schleswig Holstein.
The Annual Samaritans Charity Event on Sunday proved to be a great success with what looked like a record number of riders taking part. The fancy dress theme was “Witches and Wizards” and the well deserved first prize went to an ingeniously engineered witches’ cauldron. The two witches providing the power not only zoomed the contraption round the fourteen mile circuit in a fast time but were convincingly made up. Second prize went to a team who based their entry on the Scottish play, with individuals based respectively on the Macbeths, the Three Witches and one guy who came as Dunsinane Castle. Fantastic! Our own team effort (loads of work from Sarah, Helen, MJ and Trev) gleaned two awards, one for Conrad’s junior son as the youngest rider (six years old) and one for the most senior citizen (me!). A great day and no doubt an effective fund-raiser.
Enjoy the rides while I’m away, and I look forward to joining the Rose Fair ride to Wisbech in July.
