We're sorry to cancel but we feel we should follow the official advice. Cycling UK and British Cycling have advised their groups to cancel all events, so KLWNBUG is also cancelling until further notice.
You can still go for a bike ride - Sport England even suggest it as a way to get exercise at low risk - but you'll have to ride alone or with those you live with for now. Please try to keep your distance from other riders: some have suggested 1.5m sideways and 5m behind.
If you'd like to be identifiable to other BUGsters from a distance, KLWNBUG T-shirts are available for delivery.
If you'd like some good routes, please look at the maps page for links to the cycle.travel "suggest a ride" generator (which tends not to use busy roads) and maps showing the signposted routes red 1 (Hunstanton to Wisbech and beyond), 11 (Lynn to Cambridge), blue 30 (Downham Market to Brandon and beyond) and waymarked white/blue arrow routes 2 (Castle Rising to Fakenham), 5 (West Winch to Swaffham) and 9 (the old A17 to Sutton Bridge). Or if all else fails, ask us on facebook or on twitter
As previously discussed, we hope to have 2020 printed maps available there for delivery soon, to help people who prefer paper maps on top of a handlebar bag or similar. Watch the website for news.
We may try some sort of videoconference for Thu 9 Apr evening drinks and cycling chat - and of course, campaigns continue, by email and website, because local government cancelled in-person events but (as of now, at least) seems to be trying to push on with their crazy cycling-harming road-building plans, so please, if you can, respond online to consultations when asked and email your councillors.
Stay safe and here's hoping for happier times soon!
Regards from MJ and Trev
